Introduction Many companies begin to feel that the knowledge of their employees is their most valuable asset. This may be true, but few companies really begin to actively manage their intellectual assets in a wide range of areas. Therefore, knowledge management is far from being fully philosophically or technologically and there are few practical discussions on how to manage and use knowledge more effectively on a day-to-day basis. In the past two years I have worked with agencies in the field of knowledge management. Some of these agencies have been working on this topic for years, but only recently have they realized that they are managing knowledge. More commonly, the topic of knowledge management has only recently appeared in these institutions. However, experience and lessons have been enough so we can begin to elaborate and discuss some principles and empirical measures.
