林业建设是国家经济建设中的一个重要组成部分,我省将近九千万亩宜林地中,现有森林还不足一千万亩。因此,除积极地经营管理好现有森林外,林业工作最中心的任务是大力进行植树造林工作,以保持水土,生产大量木材,供给国家及人民的需要。几年来,我省的植树造林工作,曾做出了一定的成绩,在一部分地区已起到保持水土、减轻自然灾害,促进农业增产的作用。但是,由于在执行中央林业建设方针上不够端正,未能高度发扬了广大农民群众的造林积极性,所以植树造林成活率很低。这便是当前林业工作中存在的主要问题。从一九四九年的秋季起到今年雨季止,全省共造林二百五十六万余亩,国家规定的成活率应达百分之八十以 Forestry construction is an important part of the national economic construction.
