A machinery plant smelting plant since June 1992 began producing carbon ferrochrome. The finished carbon carbon ferrochrome contains 2% carbon, 1% silicon, 32% iron, 65% chromium and about 48% chromium in chromite. The plant has two 2J-1.5T electric arc furnace, in order to avoid electricity peak, usually at night, open the homework. In the process of smelting, some chromium oxide diffuses into the air with dust and smoke, causing some damage to the human skin, mucous membranes, respiratory tract, etc., because the dust-proof facilities are not equipped with dust concentration in the production process. In order to understand the impact of chrome work on the health of workers, we conducted a hygiene survey of the plant in 1994 and the results are reported below.
