一、学生分析
通过在高一高二的学习,高三的学生已经具有相当的英语听说读写能力。在高三阶段,教学重点主要是对学生以前所学知识的巩固和复习,逐步提高学生的语言表达能力和阅读技巧,实现较为自然的衔接与过渡。新的环境和高考的使命使高三学生有旺盛的求知欲,较高的学习自觉性,并具备较强的自学能力;他们希望老师传授他们科学文化知识,更期望从老师那里获取更多的学习策略与技巧。他们对很多问题有了自己的见解。
二、教材分析(教学内容)
在Warming up部分,以三幅广告图片为引,提出一系列与广告直接相关的问题,旨在激发学生对广告更深层次的思考。在学生对于广告有了进一步的理性认识之后,本课时更进一层说明广告在我们的生活中无处不在,并分析了广告的有益性和有害性之后,列出观点:现代社会需要真实的广告,我们需要学会辨别虚假广告,是第一课时的继续,又为本单元接下来的语言学习和其他技能的训练铺垫。本课时应侧重于学生阅读技巧的训练,提高学生的阅读能力水平。
“教”与“学”是教学过程中不可分割的两个环节。只有在了解学生的心理特点和实际能力水平,仔细研究和分析教材之后因材施教,才能把“教”与“学”有机结合,达到良好的教学效果。依据高三学生的心理特点以及现有的知识水平,结合以上对本课教材的分析,本课时部分教学内容调整如下:
1、 Pre-reading部分第二个问题与第一个内容重复,因而删去,只做第一题。
2、课前复习,通过课件回顾上节课所学内容,趣味性强,有利于自然地引入新课的学习。
3、 阅读部分增加阅读技巧的指导,能满足学生获取学习策略与技巧的愿望,从而提高学生阅读理解的能力。
三、教学目标
依据《教学大纲》提出的目标,结合对学生和教材的分析,确定本课时的核心任务是授予学生一定的学习策略与技巧,尽力提高学生的阅读能力水平,达到以下目标:
1、知识目标:通过文章介绍使学生能够理解文章中长难句子的意思并用自己的语言转述出来。
2、能力目标:能从一段文字资料中获取主要信息,能根据阅读目的使用不同的阅读策略。通过信息技术的应用,现实师生与生生之间的互动,开展自主和合作学习。
3、情感态度:有正确的英语学习动机,明确英语学习目的。通过学生参与英语教学活动,增强其学习英语的主动性和积极性;开拓学生的视野。
4、学习策略:学会利用推理和归纳等逻辑手段分析解决问题,学会与老师、同学交流学习经验。
5、文化意识:通过学习英语了解世界广告文化,培养世界意识。
四、教学策略
1、 通过快读、略读、细读等多种方法训练学生的阅读能力与技巧;
2、 通过阅读练习、分析文章结构,帮助学生理解文章主旨与大意;
3、通过学习讨论、分析归纳、与学生交流心得体会,培养学生的跨文化意识。
4、本节课将使用课件,充分利用课堂时间,提高教学效率与教学质量。
五、教学过程
Step 1Revision and lead-in:
T: Have you ever noticed we are living in a world of advertisements?
1. Where can you find advertisements?
2. Which are your favorite advertisements?
Then would you like to know how to make an advertisement? What their functions are? And what attitude should we have towards advertising and advertisements? Today let's come to ADVERTISING.
设计意图:通过直观教学法,利用两个学生感兴趣且与广告相关的问题,既复习了上一节课关于广告的知识,又巧妙创设了轻松热烈的课堂学习气氛;不仅有利于调动学生的学习情绪,而且能够自然引入新课。
Step 2 Pre-reading:
1. Work in pairs and fill in the chart
This part is to get the students prepared for the theme reading by listing advantages and disadvantages of ads.
T: Now please look at Pre-reading, Part 1. Read the instructions and try to think of as many as creative ideas for this topic.

Step 3 Reading:
Ⅰ. Fast reading
This step is designed to train the students to scan the text to get the main idea.
T: Please read the whole text quickly and find the topic sentence for each paragraph.
Suggested answers:
1. Ads are found almost everywhere.
2. People react to advertisements in different ways.
3. The basic principle of advertisements is to influence customers' choices.
4. Ads help companies and customers in a variety of ways.
5. The most important function of advertising is to introduce new products.
Ⅱ. Careful reading
This step is designed to get the students to read the text carefully to find out more details about the whole text.
T: Now please read the text again and try to answer the following questions.

六、课后反思
本节课较成功之处在于能利用电教设备,充分利用课内的有限时间,扩大课堂教学容量。充分发挥学生的自主性和能动性,以让学生快速阅读解决问题、找主题句,概括段落大意、分析文章结构等方法,具体地引导学生,师生互动和生生互动都比较有效。各个教学环节安排较为紧凑,既解决学习问题,又掌握一些实用的英语阅读技巧和学习策略。培养了学生的良好阅读习惯。这样既满足了学生的求知欲,又实现了他们获得学习策略的愿望。
