On the night of March 11 this year, Wu Yi, the minister of Chinese foreign trade and economic cooperation, and Ambassador Kanter, U.S. trade representative, formally signed an agreement on intellectual property protection in Beijing between the two countries. The agreement reached by negotiators of both sides in Beijing on the evening of February 26 ended an intellectual property dispute between China and the United States that lasted 20 months and also avoided a trade war across the Pacific. However, public opinion believes that the significance of reaching this agreement is much more than that. It will have a significant impact on the development of Sino-U.S. Economic relations and even the entire bilateral relations, and will, to a certain extent, promote the process of China’s complex customs clearance. It will write a strong note in the history of Sino-U.S. Relations.
