Chinese cooking has a long history and it is famous all over the world for its delicious flavor and rich colors. It’s really very important to translate Chinese dishes accurately and vividly for foreign friends to feel the art and culture connotation of the dish names while tasting the particular flavor of Chinese cuisine. This article briefly shows that how the cultural differences between Chinese and Western food influence the translation of Chinese dishes. By analyzing the different food culture between Chinese and Western countries， the author tries to find out the existing problems and sets examples to conclude the principles， methods and skills in translating Chinese dishes. And also elaborates it on the basis of diet cultural differences； analyzing and discussing the close links between culinary cultural difference and dish translation. The quality of English translation of Chinese dish has some direct influence on the entry of Chinese food industry into the global market. Correct translation of Chinese cuisine can narrow the gap in intercultural communication.
