2015年7月6日 第39届联合国教科文组织世界遗产委员会会议早些时候在德国波恩完成了新增世界遗产审议工作,并决定将24处新申报的遗产列入“世界遗产名录”,其中包括中国土司遗址,由此使得中国的世界遗产数目前达到48处,稳居全球第二,仅次于意大利的51处。
以湖南永顺老司城遗址、湖北唐崖土司城遗址和贵州播州海龙屯遗址为代表的中国土司遗址在本届世界遗产大会上获得委员会成员一致通过,成功入选世界文化遗产。
13世纪至20世纪初,中国元、明、清朝中央政权在西南少数民族地区推行“土司制度”,中央委任当地首领担任“土司”,世袭统治当地人民。留存至今的土司城寨及官署建筑遗存曾是“土司”的行政和生活中心。
世界遗产委员会专业咨询机构国际古迹遗址理事会在评估报告中指出,中国土司遗址展现了中央政权与地方族群在民族文化传承和国家认同方面的人类价值观交流,联合申遗的三处遗址是中国西南部地区土司管理制度的特殊见证。
截至目前,世界遗产总数达到1031处,其中包括802处文化遗产,197处自然遗产以及32处自然与文化双遗产。
July 6, 2015 The 39th Session of convention of World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held in Bonn, Germany previously finished the work of newly added World Heritage Review, and decided to classify 24 newly applied heritage sites into the "World Heritage List", including the Tusi Sites of China, therefore, the number of China's world heritages has reached 48, ranking second, following Italy, who owns 51.
Represented by old chieftain city sites of Yongshun, chieftain city sites of Tangya, Hebei and Hailongtun sites of Bozhou, Guizhou, Chinese chieftain sites were unanimously adopted by the committee members in this session of the World Heritage Convention as a world cultural heritage.
From the 13th century to the 20th century, the central government of Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties implemented chieftain system in the southwest minority areas and appointed local leaders as "chieftain" who had hereditary ruling of local people. The surviving chieftain walled city of the chieftain and bureaucratic buildings were once the administrative and living center of “chieftain”.
International Council On Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the professional evaluation agency pointed out in the assessment report that the chieftain sites in China show the communication of human values of the central government and local ethnic groups in national cultural heritage and national recognition, the three sites which applied for the World Heritage jointly is the special witness of the chieftain system of managing of southwest China.
So far, the total number of World Heritage is up to 1,031, which includes 802 cultural heritages, 197 natural heritages and 32 natural and cultural heritages.
