本文通过文本细读与语境重构,揭示约翰.厄普代克四部曲中的第二部《兔子归来》的主题意蕴,认为此作品不仅反映了美国中产阶级的困惑人生和悲惨心境,而且通过新现实主义精妙细致的写作手法描写了主人公哈利与三位女性错综复杂的关系以及哈利自觉或不自觉的自我反省,蕴含了作为弦外之音的主题意蕴——中产阶级的自我救赎和生存策略。
Through reading the text and reconstructing the context, this article reveals the theme of the second “Back of the Rabbit” in John Updike’s four novels. It considers this work not only reflects the confused life and miserable mood of the middle class in the United States, but also through Neo-realism exquisite and meticulous writing practices describe the intricate relationship between the protagonist Harry and the three women and Harry’s self-examination consciously or unconsciously, which contains the theme of the sound outside the strings - the middle-class self-salvation and survival strategy.
