The United States Navy, on the electrical equipment side, is still in a period of renewal, as it did on military equipment, finding itself threatened by the increasing sophistication of the navy from the old rival, the Soviet Union, and the Third World. However, any plan to extensively replace existing equipment is costly because of the large amount of radar purchased. Therefore, while several well-developed systems have been developed, the fleet will continue to use most of the existing radars. Indeed, some of the most significant improvements are not the replacement of individual systems but the fuller exploration of the potential of existing systems. with
