与终结性测试形式不同,形成性测试注重学生学习的过程,利用灵活多样的测试任务以及教师评价、学生自评和同伴互评等多层次的评价形式细致深入地考察学生的学习活动。形成性测试所提供的及时的信息反馈既能使教师了解学生学习的进展情况,学生学习中存在的问题,又能总结教学中需要改进的地方。学生同样可以利用测试所反馈的信息监控自己的学习成绩,及时改进学习方法。
Different from summative testing, formative testing focuses on the process of student learning. It uses a variety of flexible testing tasks as well as multi-level evaluation forms such as teacher evaluation, student self-evaluation, and peer peer evaluation to meticulously and in-depth examine students’ learning activities. The timely information feedback provided by formative tests not only enables teachers to understand the progress of students’ learning, students’ problems in learning, but also summarizes the areas that need improvement in teaching. Students can also use the feedback from the test to monitor their academic performance and improve their learning methods in a timely manner.
