近十多年来,世界各国露天采矿正在向大型化发展。据有关资料介绍,国外大型深凹露天矿如果边坡角增加1°,就可以节省1500~2000万美元的投资,我国德兴铜矿的边坡角增加1°可以减少岩石剥离量1000多万米~3,这是一个相当可观的数字。但是,由于边坡角确定不够合理而造成边坡滑坡,也会给生产带来很大的损失。所以,对露天矿边坡稳定性分析及其边坡的研究具有十分重大的经济意义。
