August 16, 2010, the Japanese government announced the second quarter GDP of 1.28 trillion US dollars, slightly lower than China’s 1.33 trillion US dollars. China surpassed Japan to become the second largest economic power after the United States, enough to show its influence on the global economy. As China becomes an important market for many products, such as automobiles, electronics, home appliances, etc., multinationals increasingly regard China as their strategic focus and the strong purchasing power behind China’s economy has become the most attractive advantage. However, paying too much attention to the Chinese market will also bring some potential negative impacts to multinational corporations.
