To determine the accuracy of diagnosis of left atrium augmentation using electrocardiogram (VCG) and electrocardiogram (ECG), the authors analyzed the size of the P-ring, the time, amplitude, and axis of the P-wave on the ECG and correlated with echocardiography and Angiography data were compared. The authors studied two groups of children, one group known to have left atrial enlargement and the other left atrial size normal. Several authors have proposed a standard for increased left atrium in children, but the correlation with left atrial size determined by echocardiography and angiography has not been established.
