中华书局於本年六月出版一本苏联天文学家费辛柯夫院士於1946年所写的“普通天文学”的译本,由毕黎同志翻译。据我所如道,这是在我国出现的第一种苏联天文教科书的中文译本。这种译本在目前是非常需要的:因为我们正要向苏联学习先进的科学技术,而且今年南京大学要办天文系,几个新的综合大学的数学、地理、气象等系也都要设置天文课程。最近我买了一本,仔细地把它读完,发现译文有很多错误的地方。其中专门名词翻译错误或者未照公定的译法译出的有五十七个之多,三分之一以上出现不只一次。附加的俄文原名有八个错误,公式和 Zhonghua Book Company published a translation of “Ordinary Astronomy” written by academician Fei Sinov in 1946 by the Soviet astronomer in June this year and translated by Comrade Biri. As far as I can tell, this is the first Chinese version of the Soviet astronomical textbook that appeared in our country. This kind of translation is very much needed at present: because we are going to learn advanced science and technology from the Soviet Union, and this year Nanjing University wants to set up an astronomy department. Mathematics, geography, meteorology and other departments of several new comprehensive universities should also set up astronomy course. Recently I bought a book, read it carefully, and found many mistakes in the translation. Among them, there were 57 translations of specialized terminology errors or no translations of the official translations, more than one third appeared more than once. Additional Russian original name has eight errors, formulas and
