探究式学习(inquiry learning)是一种积极的学习过程,主要指的是学生在学科教学中自己探索问题的学习方式。这种积极性表现在“学生去做的事,而不是为他们做好的事”(something that students do,not something that is done to them)。换句话说,就是让学生自己思考怎么做甚至做什么,而不是让学生接受教师思考好的现成的结论。《英语课程标准》在第四部分实施建议里明确指出:要加强对学生学习策略的指导,为他们终生学习奠定基础。可见,《标准》明确要求教师能设计探究式的学习活动,这一指导性的意见,对我们如何开展英语教学带来了许多思考。
Inquiry learning is a positive learning process, which mainly refers to students’ learning ways of exploring problems in their subject teaching. This kind of enthusiasm is manifested in “something that students do, not something that is done to them.” In other words, let the students think about what to do and what they do, rather than let the students accept the ready-made conclusions that teachers think good. The English Curriculum Standard clearly states in the implementation recommendations in the fourth part that it is necessary to strengthen the guidance of students’ learning strategies and lay the foundation for their lifelong learning. Can be seen that the “standard” clearly requires teachers to design inquiry-based learning activities, this guiding opinion, how to carry out our English teaching has brought a lot of thinking.
