From 6 to 8 July, 2014, The 1st Ulaanbaatar International Build & Decoration Materials Exhibition was held successfully in Misheel Expo Center,Ulan Bator, Mongolia. The exhibition was organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Building Materials Sub-Council and the Misheel Group. The supporting organizations are China Building materials Federation, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Ministry of Construction and Urban development, Mayor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar city, Chono Group, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ulaanbaatar World Trade Center.
Mongolia is located in east Asia as an inland country, it is connected to Russia in the north, and neighbour China in the other three sides. The population of the country is 3 million, half of which dwell in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city. The country enjoys abundant natural resources, and is an unexplored market with huge commercial potentials. In recent years, the building industry is booming in the country. Under such background, the Ulaanbaatar International Build & Decoration Materials Exhibition was presented. With 5,000 square meters, it is a onestop trade platform to offer build material and decoration solutions.
As a veteran member of WTO, Mongolia is enjoying an ever increasing degree in communicating with the rest of the world. Concerning the building industry, it relies heavily on import, and nearly 80% of the building materials are imported from China. Most of the estate programs in the country are contracted to foreign companies, mainly from Russia, Japan, China, South Korea. Part of the reason for this is international aid and joint venture programs. The second phase of building materials booming has emerged. It is expected that from 2013 to 2018, the economic growth rate will reach 13%, and the demand for imported building materials in Mongolia will reach 5,320 million dollars in 2014, 6,170 million dollars in 2015, 7,150 dollars in 2016, 8,300 million dollars in 2017, and 9,620 million dollars in 2018 respectively.
