Objective To investigate the level of cognitive radiation on X-ray radiation in patients undergoing radiological examinations and provide reference for carrying out the popularization of radiological protection knowledge. Methods Patients who were admitted to radiological examination from August 30, 2013 to October 29, 2013 were collected. A randomized questionnaire was used to investigate the radiological examination. The survey included basic information of the respondents, ways to acquire knowledge on radiation exposure, knowledge about the basic knowledge of radiation exposure and attitude towards radiation inspection. A total of 2 315 cases were examined, 2,315 questionnaires were issued and 2,315 questionnaires were returned. Results Among 2 315 cases, 2 026 (87.52%) were aware of radiation signs and 1821 (78.66%) knew that X-ray radiation was harmful to the human body. People of different ages, genders, professions, education levels, X-ray examination with or without the examination of the basic knowledge of X-ray radiation to understand the situation was statistically significant (P <0.05); different age, occupation and education of the examinee on the X-ray radiation attitude was statistically significant ( P <0.05). Most of the subjects should be informed by radiology and medical staff to get the basic knowledge of X-ray radiation. Conclusion We should further adopt an effective method to popularize the basic knowledge of radiation so that the examinee can maintain the correct heart rate and behavior for radiological examination. Hospital and department publicity or medical personnel to inform is the main force to popularize knowledge of radiation.
