Objective To analyze the effect of music combined with relaxation therapy on anxiety and pain in elderly patients with coronary artery stenting. Methods Eighty-seven elderly patients undergoing coronary stent implantation from September 2013 to September 2015 were divided into control group (n = 41) and observation group (n = 46) according to different nursing methods. Patients in both groups were compared for anxiety (assessed by self-rating anxiety scale), depression (assessed by self-rating depression scale) and pain status (assessed by visual analog scale). Results The scores of anxiety, depression and pain in the observation group were lower than those in the control group [(40.21 ± 5.38) vs (55.41 ± 5.21), (31.12 ± 4.30) vs (49.85 ± 4.21), (1.03 ± 0.41) Points (2.52 ± 0.52) points, the differences were statistically significant (P all <0.05). Conclusion The elderly patients with coronary artery stenting using music combined with relaxation therapy can effectively improve patients with depression, anxiety, reduce pain, and enhance comfort.
