由福建省农科院和国际水稻研究所联合举办的国际红萍利用学术讨论会于1985年3月31～4月5日在福州举行.参加会议的有五个国际性组织,以及来自亚洲、美洲、欧洲、非洲、大洋洲的十五个国家的学者、专家三十三人,国内的专家、教授五十八人.大会交流了世界各国近年来在红萍固氮和应用研究方面的进展和成就,对进一步加强国际间的协作研究、促进科研信息交流和人才培养都将起着积极作用.大会开幕后还举行了全国红萍研究中心的落成典礼.
