Julius Owen is his official name on identification, but in Philadelphia, everyone calls him “Dr. J.”. The nickname was obtained after he attended high school in Roosevelt. Owen won the unanimous approval of his team-mates by virtue of his excellent skills while following the team’s state-of-the-nation championship trophy, and his teammates played a nickname that sounds very elegant to him: Dr. This chic nickname describes him as a modest gentleman inside and outside the stadium, and secondly to describe his single-handedly catching the ball, one arm waving in the sky majestic. Later, they simply call him “Dr. J”.
