China’s vast territory and huge population of rural areas generally have the problem of insufficient financial supply. This article analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of developing rural financial markets. This paper argues that Internet technology is dramatically reducing the operational costs of financial services and will therefore re-create rural finance. China has 33,000 townships (excluding street communities), 266 million residents in the town, 662 million rural residents, and a total of 928 million rural and urban residents. This is a huge figure. However, the financial services needs of this huge community have long been unmet. Large banks have evacuated their villages and shrank their economy to cities above the county level. Only the financial institutions such as postal savings banks and credit unions are left in the villages, and they are also hoping to enter the cities to do bigger and better business whenever they have the chance. China’s vast territory and huge population of rural areas generally have the problem of insufficient financial supply.
