B cells play an immune response and regulatory role by producing antibodies and presenting antigens. Regulatory B cells (Bregs) are a newly discovered subset of B cells that mediate immune tolerance through the production of inhibitory cytokines such as interleukin 10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) By In autoimmune diseases, infections, cancer, occurrence, development, prognosis plays an important regulatory role. This review summarizes the advances in the discovery, classification and activation of Bregs, their mechanisms of action, and their relevance in autoimmune diseases and transplantation tolerance.
