Gadamer Hermeneutics “historic ” principle has a tremendous impact on literary translation. Due to the historicity of understanding, the translators’ understanding in different historical periods always comprehends historical stages and translations are branded with the times. This is more obvious in the two versions of Jane Eyre, which shows that the influence of individual translators on translation is unavoidable, which lays the foundation for the retranslation and re-translation of literary works.
