The Ji’an District Health Bureau of Jiangxi Province organized the investigation and analysis of the status quo of rural health in the whole district in June 1999, and put forward corresponding countermeasures on how to speed up the development of rural health in our district. I. Status Quo and Problems (1) Rural hospitals have made great progress. Institutional settings have become widespread. The district has established 244 township hospitals owned by the whole people and 24 collectively owned hospitals.
