以“但问耕耘”的执着进行文化建设,要审慎思辨这一文化是否符合人类文明进步规律,是否属于先进文化,是否符合社会主义核心价值观。常州轻工职业技术学院多年来以“但问耕耘”的执着进行以邓建军精神为核心的学校文化建设,取得了一系列成果。十三五期间,学院在进一步建设以邓建军“爱岗敬业、自强不息”精神为核心的学校文化的同时,还将充分利用学院教师余美芳家庭孝老爱亲事迹这一文化资源,弘扬以“孝老爱亲、明礼友善”为主要内容的传统文化,旨在以文化建设为抓手,立德树人。
