本文报道了棕形额蚤的实验养殖方法、生活周期、繁殖力、对人的嗜血能力、体重、吸血量及生存期限（寿命）等。在温度２１±０．５℃，相对湿度７５±５％的条件下，棕形额蚤的生活周期为４５．２８ｄ，繁殖力为２．２０只／♀．ｄ，在１、４、６天不同饥饿条件下对人的吸血率分别为５１．１１％、７２．１７％、８１．８２％，饥饿蚤体重０．３５８ｍｇ，吸血蚤体重０．４９２ｍｇ，吸血量为０．１３４ｍｇ，羽化蚤平均饥饿寿命为８．２ｄ，养殖蚤平均饥饿寿命为６．６ｄ，正常养殖寿命平均为４９．３ｄ，为研究云南野鼠鼠疫疫源地主要媒介蚤种的生物学特性提供重要的实验依据。
