Taking the 11th verse of “Spirituality”, the representative of San Juan de la Cruz, a classic poet in the golden age of Spain, as an example, this article attempts to rebuild the intertextuality of the original verses while translating the original verses: Folk poetry and Bible interpretation of traditional wisdom and other different angles, around the “visual and death” theme, the related literature, religion and social culture of intertextual text with an open annotation manner together to take this or may find some “Something lost in translation ”.
