Objective: To investigate and further understand the influence of octreotide on the hemodynamics of portal system. Methods: The changes of blood flow in portal vein and splenic vein at 2, 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes after intravenous injection of 0.1 mg octreotide in cirrhotic patients with portal hypertension were measured by Spectravs T color ultrasound system And vascular diameter changes. Using their own comparison t test. Results: The blood flow of the portal vein and splenic vein decreased significantly (P <0.01) 5 minutes after administration and also significantly decreased after 10 minutes (P <0.01 and P <0.05, respectively). Differences between different time periods vary, but with the extension of the role of drugs, there is a continuous downward trend. Conclusion: Octreotide has a very obvious effect of reducing portal vein and splenic vein blood flow and reducing the diameter of dilated blood vessels. Indirect octreotide has the role of reducing the pressure of the portal vein and splenic vein.
