据有关专家预测，2000年后，我国通信干线容量要求超过10G的线路约占15％，到2010年超过10G的线路约占43％，容量要求超过20G的约占13％。2000年至2010年期间全国光缆建设长度约为9万～10万公里，并有11个大城市将部署直达大容量10Gbit／s以上的通信网络。目前，中国电信、中国联通、网通、吉通、铁通等电信运营商正热火朝天地建设新网，并开始了很多扩容工程，一个以采用密集波分复用系统为主的网络正迅速扩展。在DWDM设备市场上，也是群雄并起，各有千秋。本篇向读者介绍北电网络、阿尔卡特、华为公司、烽火通信、马可尼5家厂商的DWDM系统。
Experts predict that after 2000, about 15% of China’s communications trunk lines will require more than 10G lines, 43% more than 10G lines by 2010, and about 13% more than 20G lines. During the period from 2000 to 2010, the construction of optical fiber cables in the whole country will be about 90,000 ~ 100,000 km in length and 11 large cities will deploy communication networks with direct access to large-capacity 10Gbit / s networks. Currently, telecom operators like China Telecom, China Unicom, China Netcom, Jitong and Railcom are all building new networks in full swing and have begun a lot of capacity expansion projects.
