墨竹竹子,是品德高尚、情操磊落的象征,与梅、兰、菊合称为四君子。墨竹,是中国画独特的状物写神手法之一,它讲究用笔、用墨技巧,特别强调传神。元代的柯九思、吴镇,明代的王绂、夏昶,清代的郑板桥、石涛等,都是画竹的高手。画竿:画竹须先画竹竿,可以自上而下,也可以自下而上,但必须一气写出不能犹豫。画两竿以上时,竿不要平行、节不要等高,墨色要有深浅变化,姿态要有穿插、粗细变化。画竿的墨色,比枝叶淡些为宜。点节:有八字式、乙字式等方法,用浓墨在竹竿墨色未干之先,使之与竹竿的墨色混合,具有笔墨韵味而不枯涩。
