Atherosclerosis is a serious disease that endangers human health. Its long course and complex pathogenesis have recently found that epigenetic mechanisms play an important role in the development of atherosclerosis. TET2, a DNA demethylase, plays an important role in epigenetic regulation. Studies have shown that TET2 protein expression in atherosclerotic plaque decreased, TET2 may affect the development of atherosclerosis by regulating DNA methylation. This review aims to analyze the relationship between TET2 and atherosclerosis and further clarify the role of TET2 in the development of atherosclerosis and its mechanism of action to provide new ideas and clues for the effective prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis .
