Bronze-brain translation is an important means of teaching classical Chinese and is an important way to cultivate students’ understanding and expression skills. How to translate classical Chinese? Versions of the Chinese version, which emphasize more, are: Never translate hard translations, be careful not to miss fat translations, and you should literally translate. I think this kind of emphasis is one-sided. It is true that when translating, it must be faithful to the original text, and it should be confessed to be “letter” and “reach”. However, to strive to accurately express the original meaning of the original text, beautiful and vivid reproduction of the original “god” and “form”, namely “elegant”, but considered too little. Even a little afraid to deal with. In fact, just as the division of labor between grammar and rhetoric is different, “letter” and “reach” can only solve the problem of “isn’t right?”; only “elegant” can solve the problem of “good or bad” and “wonderful”. Therefore, when guiding middle school students in the translation of their texts, can they be promoted, or should they be advocated, or even emphasizing the word “elegance”? Not only can it be, but also should be.
