一种新型的自行车自动变速器已经问世。这是由美国的一位赛车工程师发明的。据报道,这种变速器采用小型计算机和一个磁力速度传感器实现自动变速。变速系统的核心是由一个6节扇形链轮组成共24齿的后链轮。该链轮能够自行扩张和收缩成11个大小不同的链轮,从而无需变换链轮就能够产生11种速比。当链轮直径变化时,扇形链轮就象照相机镜头的光图变化一样互相重叠,始终保持链轮与链条的啮合。
A new type of bicycle automatic transmission has come out. This was invented by a racing engineer in the United States. It is reported that this transmission uses a small computer and a magnetic speed sensor for automatic transmission. The heart of the transmission system is a 24-sprocket rear sprocket composed of a six-segment fan sprocket. The sprocket can self-expand and contract into 11 sprockets of different sizes to produce 11 kinds of speed ratios without changing sprockets. As the diameter of the sprocket changes, the fan-shaped sprockets overlap each other as the light pattern of the camera lens changes, keeping the sprocket engaged with the chain.
