To understand the prevalence of anemia in primary and secondary school students in Heilongjiang reclamation area, we conducted a survey on schools in cities and farms under reclamation in July 1996. The results of the survey are reported as follows: 1 Subjects and Methods 1.1 Subjects: A total of 2489 students aged 7-17 were selected from two schools (Jiamusi State Farm Reclamation Bureau School, Tangyuan Farm School), of whom 1450 were city students and 10
