Decision making was long conceived as rational, with elaborative cognitive processing as crucial, along with domain specific competence.Decision research focused on deviates from rational models (Tversky & Kahneman, 1979).The neural explanation pertained to cognitive limitations in processing, resulting in systematic biases from the norms.Areas involved in executive functions, prefrontal neural activity, were seen as the underlying brain activity.
