Objective: When soft tissues are excised as part of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, various methods, such as palatal mucous membrane transplantation, free skin grafting, and biomaterial graft, are used to make up for tissue defects in cases for which primary closure is comparatively difficult to perform.A polyglycolic acid (PGA) sheet is an absorbent suture reinforcement material, and PGA has been applied with fibrin glue during pulmonary surgery as sealants to prevent leakage following pulmonary resection and for hemostasis during liver surgery. However, only a few cases of its use in the oral and maxillofacial surgical field have been reported.
