Objective: To evaluate the application of free flaps for reconstruction of total and subtotal glossectomy defects.Patients and Methods: A retrospective study was performed with the patients of total or subtotal glossectomy at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology from 1999 to 2012.The patients were reviewed and the shape of reconstructed tongue, speech intelligibility, swallowing and the quality of life were evaluated.
