We are developing a monoclonal antibody that recognizes an oncofetal glycoepitope as a potential probe for identifying cancer stem cells.Mannitou antibody labels significantly more restrictively in sections of human colon carcinoma than anti-Human cytokeratin 20.Furthermore, Mannitou antibody intensely labels the surface of human adult pancreatic stem cells and pancreatic cancer cell lines.Within inflamed mouse pancreata, it labels the exocrine ducts, the site of adult stem cells.
