由于天然药物化学是一门实践性很强的学科，在教学过程中，必须理论与实验充分相结合，改进实验内容，通过基础性实验、综合设计性实验、研究性试验，以利于学生更好地掌握有关知识，培养分析与解决问题的能力，从而提高天然药物化学实验的教学质量。
用古埃法测定物质的磁化率，求算其顺磁性原子(离子)的未成对电子数，进而理解磁化率数据对推断未成对电子数和分子配键类型的地位和作用。目前测定磁化率的实验步骤不同的教科书有不同的方法，我们认为这些方法都存在这样或那样的误差，我们提出了自己的方法，充分考虑了剩磁的影响，得到的数据更科学合理，同时误差也控制在最小范围。
当前我国高校存在着重科研轻教学的现象。高校的教学和科研二者既相互促进，又相互矛盾，表现出一定的相对性和有条件性，因此，正确认识教学与科研的关系，使它们之间合理互动，有利于提高化学专业本科教学的水平和质量。
