Our EEG-and-Psychological-Response system is being developed at Lake Forest College for teaching scientific research and for medical diagnosis where large-scale electronic installations are impractical and portability, speed, and ease of use are crucial. In a typical experiment, EEG from two scalp placements is recorded to a laptop computer while the subject carries out a cognitive task with stimuli presented on a monitor.Low voltage dc powering of all equipment obviates the need for shielding from electrical noise and enhances safety. For analysis, time stamps of subject events are used to "snip" out samples of EEG for spectral analysis and additional data mining. Our software uses LabVIEW graphical virtual instruments (National Instruments, Austin, TX, USA).The pictures show parts of our programs.
