On May 14, 2007, Lei Hanping, the union president of a chemical reagent factory in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, was forced to rescind the labor contract because of “gathering trouble” and another two workers were detained by the factory Removed by a piece of paper. Leihanping was forcibly dismissed by the enterprise because he was caught in the dispute between the employees and the factory caused by the enterprise restructuring. In this conflict of interests, he stood on the position of safeguarding employees’ interests, which undoubtedly made the enterprise decision Layers for the light fire. That is to say, Lei Hanping was dismissed by the company not because of his failure to perform his duties or performance of work mistakes, but because he effectively fulfilled the statutory duties of a corporate union chairman. This reveals a serious practical problem: the trade unions of enterprises are confronted with the formation of antagonistic interest groups. Such awkward living conditions are increasingly impacting the functions of the trade unions, so that more enterprises and unions will hand over their right to speak.
