Objective To analyze the common risk factors of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTD) in convalescent patients with acute stroke. Methods A total of 328 acute stroke patients admitted to our department from January 2009 to December 2010 were selected. The subjects underwent 24-hour urinary log monitoring and questionnaire “Common Latent Risk Factors for LUTD” LUTD for grouping. Results Of the 328 patients with acute stroke, 155 (47.26%) had LUTD during the recovery period. The average age, mean duration of hypertension and urinary tract infection in the LUTD group were significantly more than those in the control group (all P <0.01-0.05). Conclusion Stroke patients with older age, long duration of hypertension and previous urinary tract infection are more likely to have LUTD symptoms.
