日本的孩子在进入小学后,会通过在学校吃营养午餐时学习餐前洗手、筷子的用法、饭前饭后礼节等基本的用餐礼仪并了解享用午餐的重要性。随着年级的升高,他们会开始学习食品的生产、加工、流通,饮食与健康的关系、食材与营养的关系,各地的风土美食、日本及世界的饮食文化等与饮食相关的知识。这就是被称作“食育”的日本独有的教育方式。而“学校配餐”正是“食育”的重中之重。日本中小学的营养午餐时刻在日本,学校配餐的普及率在公立小学几乎是100%,初中也接近90%。日本的小学并没有专门的食堂
