The reactions of selenium catalyzed selenium-catalyzed reduction of nitrobenzene to phenylcarbamate in alcoholic media were investigated in detail. A series of phenylcarbamate products were obtained. The results show that the selenium powder has high catalytic activity, good reaction yield and selectivity, and the reaction process is simple. The reaction mechanism proposed in this article
