During the Opium War, Western missionaries from Britain, the United States and other Western missionaries engaged in the coastal cities and towns of southeastern China such as Hong Kong and Guangzhou, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Ningbo and Shanghai to spread Christian culture as their core. Starting from the missionary mission, they published books introducing Western culture and founded new magazines. At the same time, they established some modern new-style schools and displayed a brand new Western culture on the ancient Chinese land so that a group of people of insight Open, and created a new pursuit of ideas. It is noteworthy that the missionary’s subjective intention is to grafting Chinese to their religious culture, while the objective effect is the opposite. Few Christians are accepted, but rather those very limited Western science and technology, and the educational culture has become an indisputable factor for the advanced Chinese Eyes open to see the world’s spiritual food.
