第二代认知科学在反对第一代认知科学的过程中陷入了一组悖论。悖论源于扩大了心灵的界限,却又没有重新概括心灵的本质。心灵形质说引入生物哲学中结构概念以复苏亚里士多德的形式因,把心灵作为一种神经、身体和世界交互作用的结构性形式。这种心灵观综合了当代认知科学与心灵哲学的成果,合理地解释了传统心灵哲学的难题,同时具有中国心灵哲学的自然主义意蕴,然而也陷入到突现论或随附物理主义的困境。
The second generation of cognitive science is caught up in a paradox of opposition to the first generation of cognitive science. Paradox stems from expanding the boundaries of the soul, but did not re-summarize the essence of the soul. The psychology of nature introduces the structural causes of the introduction of structural philosophy in biological philosophy in order to recover the formal causes of Aristotle, taking the mind as a structural form of the interaction of the nerves, the body and the world. This concept of mind integrates the achievements of contemporary cognitive science and spiritual philosophy, reasonably explains the difficult problems of traditional philosophical philosophy, and at the same time has the naturalistic connotation of Chinese spiritual philosophy. However, it also falls into the predicament of emergent theory or accompanying physicalism.
