由于飞行时间质谱仪(TOFMS)的应用日益广泛,提高其质量分辨率已成为人们关注的一个目标。1955年Wiley和Mclaren提出二步加速场原理。1973年Karataev等制成反射式飞行时间质谱仪(RETOFMS)。E.W.Schlag的小组于1984年报道了以多光子电离(MPI)作为RETOF的离子源的工作。MPI产生的离子分布范围小(<0.1 mm)、形成时间短(几个纳秒或更短)并且可以进行波长选择,是TOFMS理想的离子源。
As time-of-flight mass spectrometers (TOFMSs) are becoming more widely used, increasing their mass resolution has become a target of concern. In 1955 Wiley and Mclaren proposed a two-step acceleration principle. In 1973 Karataev made reflex time-of-flight mass spectrometer (RETOFMS). E. W. Schlag’s team reported in 1984 on the work of multiphoton ionization (MPI) as the ion source for RETOF. MPI produces ions with a small distribution range (<0.1 mm), short formation times (a few nanoseconds or less) and wavelength selectivity, making them the ideal source for TOFMS.
