De Vera brings more than 21 years of experience in the exhibition business to the post and is the president of Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado and board chairman of the SPCVB Administration - S?o Paulo Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Book lovers meet in Barcelona
This year it’s Fira de Barcelona’s turn to organise Liber, the International Book Fair promoted by the Spanish Publishers’ Association (FGEE). From October 12 to 14, 2016, at the Gran Via venue will be hosting the 34th edition of the most important event for the Spanish publication industry, which is expected to represent some 500 publishing houses and companies from 16 countries. The show is determined to continue driving the upsurge in sales of recent years in both the domestic and international markets. This edition of Liber will be shining a spotlight once again on digital content, selfpublishing, new publishing houses and – a first this year– printing services.

4月5日,威尔士政府宣布基本通过决议,将与Wesley Clover公司合资兴建一个国际会议中心。
该项目预计耗资8,000万英镑,预计2019年完工,建成后楼面面积达到20,000平米,可容纳5,000名参会代表。威尔士政府经济部部长Edwina Hart表示,“新的会议中心将为威尔士经济带来可观的经济效应。在举办了北约峰会等高端国际会议之后,我们需要一个新的会议中心来匹配威尔士不断增长的声誉,并举办更多国际会议与活动。”
Welsh to build 80 million pounds convention center
On 5 April, the Welsh Government announced that it has agreed in principle to form a joint venture partnership with Wesley Clover to move forward proposals to construct an international convention centre.
The proposed 80 million pounds facility will be capable of accommodating up to 5,000 delegates with a total floor space exceeding 20,000sqm. The ICC could be completed and ready for use in 2019.
Welsh Government minister for economy, science and transport Edwina Hart said: “The new convention centre will provide a considerable economic boost to Wales. We need a world-class convention centre in order to capitalise on Wales’ growing reputation in this area, to host international events and conferences on a regular basis.”
