史料和文献历来为严谨的学者所重视,尤其是作为文学研究直接对象的作家作品,更是研究者必须全面、准确掌握的第一手资料。鲁迅曾说,研究作家要把握其“全人”,所以,编辑出版收录作家作品的《全集》,历来为学术界和出版界所普遍瞩目。关于包括现代作家《全集》编辑在内的现代文学的文献学问题,曾在2003年和2004年进行过两次研讨,取得了一些重要成果。但是,现代作家全集编辑中的各种问题不可能一下子得到解决,新的问题也还会层出不穷。所以,在刚刚结束的中国现代文学研究会第九届年会上,作家全集的编辑问题依然作为研讨会的四大主题之一,引起了与会专家学者的广泛关注,这说明,现代作家全集的编选和校勘依然是现代文学研究领域需要重点解决的问题。从本质上讲,搜集、整理和编辑史料本身就是一项学术研究活动,至少也是学术研究的基础或有机组成部分,其重要性绝不可等闲视之。而编辑作家全集的重要性不仅在于其为当前的研究者提供了翔实的原初资料,还在于它所保存的完备的史料可以成为一种文化收藏,成为文化传承的一部分。这样说来,收集完整、考订精当、体例科学的作家全集,其编辑者所做的当是功在千秋的大事,实在有必要花气力去做好。在当前学术界刮起的某些浮躁之风面前,组织和刊发这样一组专题文章,对于净化学术风气、弘扬早年现代文学研究中所形成的沉潜、扎实、严谨的治学传统,进而促进现代作家全集的编辑以及现代文学文献学的健康发展,或许会有一些裨益。 Historical materials and literature have always been valued by serious scholars, especially as writers’ works directed at literary studies. It is also the first-hand information that researchers must fully and accurately grasp. Lu Xun once said that research writers should grasp their “whole person”. Therefore, editing and publishing the “Complete Works” of writers’ works has always been the focus of attention both in academia and in the publishing field. On the philology of modern literature including the edition of the Complete Works of modern writers, there have been two discussions in 2003 and 2004 and some important achievements have been made. However, all kinds of problems in the compilation of modern writers can not be solved at once, and new problems will emerge endlessly. Therefore, at the just-concluded 9th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Modern Literature Research Society, the compilation of the Complete Works of Writers still remains as one of the four major topics of the symposium, arousing widespread concern among experts and scholars attending the symposium. This shows that the Complete Works of Modern Writer Compilation and collation are still the problems to be solved in modern literature research. Essentially, collecting, organizing and editing historical materials is itself an academic research activity, at least as a basic or an integral part of academic research. Its importance can never be underestimated. The compilation of a complete collection of writers is not only important in that it provides informative original materials to current researchers but also that the complete historical materials it maintains can become a cultural collection and become part of the cultural heritage. In this way, it is necessary to do a good job in collecting the complete, well-written and well-researched collection of writers whose editors have done well in the future. Organizing and publishing such a series of monographs in the face of some impetuous whips blowing by the current academic circles have played an important role in purifying the academic atmosphere and promoting the subtle, solid and rigorous academic tradition formed in the early modern literature research, There may be some benefits to compiling the Complete Works of Writers and the healthy development of modern literature and philology.
