The ban on smoking in the London Underground is not banned. On the night of November 18, 1987, a passenger smoked at King’s Cross Subway Station and smoothly threw away a burnt match between the steps of the elevator and side fenders The gap fell off. Under the 48-year-old wooden elevator, a large pile of combustibles and greasy dirt accumulates, and a little bit of spark goes on igniting. Nausea spread in the next fire, no one spotted. To be burned elevator extended to the ticket hall, the fire is out of control. Subway station staff did not immediately report to the boss, fire equipment also failed. Panicked passengers not only did not evacuate to another safety elevator, but to the fire sea has been to the ticket office. When the first batch of firefighters arrived, it was too late. The fire burned more than 6 hours before being extinguished, 31 passengers were burnt alive.
